I developed an interest in cooking at a very young age.  I remember asking my mother if we could make doughnuts when I was in about the 3rd grade.  She raised her eyebrows and then proceeded to let me help her mess up the kitchen.  When I was about in 5th grade, Mom had surgery and was laid up for quite a while.  My job was to fix dinner for Dad and my brother.  I managed to get a meal on the table every night, and I remember the feeling of satisfaction in my accomplishment.  There's a special feeling that comes from creating something yourself, especially if you can eat it!

It went on from there, and when I moved out on my own, I started to pursue my interest in cooking and barbecue.  I taught my self how to prepare classic and unusual dishes and experimented with fresh herbs, spices, and different cooking techniques, and became quite comfortable in the kitchen and in the backyard with my growing skills.  I've made and still make homemade pasta, sausages, sushi, pickles, mustards, chutneys, curries, spice mixes, yogurt, and hot sauces.  I've put up my own relishes, sauerkraut, jams, fruits, liquors, preserves, and beer.  I love food of all kinds, and experiment with Italian, Mexican, German, Indian, Asian, Cuban, Creole, and French recipes.  I am extremely confident in my ability to create a meal that you will love.
